Have a rest in the patinated building of Horváth villa, in Balatonfüred.

Balatonfüred is already an 800-year-old small town on the northern shore of lake Balaton, surrounded by gentle hills. First the picturesque scenery captivates the visitors than the relics of the past such as old buildings, temples, traditional wine yards, parks and aged trees send their message to the tourists.

AThe settlement began to flourish during the reform era in 1800s. The so called resort district, where the harbour, various hotels and sailboat docks, restaurants, cafés, confectioneries, shops and other places to visit can be found was built beneath the Old Town district, on the shore of lake Balaton. Both the Tagore promenade – to the north -and the walkway - to the east - start off from here. Above the promenade is the reformed-age district consisting of historical buildings renovated in a period style. One of these buildings is the Horváth villa where our apartment, providing room for 4 people, can be found.

Among the stout walls of the villa evoking the historical past we await our dear guests with a comfortable accommodation during the whole year. Only a few steps away from the "Hungarian Sea" and the bustle on its shore, we guarantee rest and relaxation in our rooms.

Be our guest in this wonderful environment!

The short story of Horváth-ház:

The Horváth House designed in Copf–style (Louis-Seize style) was built by the Szentgyörgyi-Horváth family in 1789, in the close vicinity of the 'sour water spring' of Füred "for the admiration of the public and for its better accommodation".

In the reform era and later as well many prominent guests like Dániel Berzsenyi, Lajos Kossuth, Miklós Wesselényi, Ferenc Deák, Mihály Vörösmarty, Mór Perczel, György Klapka, Mór Jókai, Mihály Pollack, Emperor Franz Joseph etc. visited the House.

In the Horváth House of Füred the first Anna Ball was organized on 26 July 1825 by János Horváth to the honour of his daughter Anna Krisztina. In this event Anna Krisztina was introduced to her future husband, Ernő Kiss, lieutenant general of the 1848 war of independence and later one of the Thirteen Martyrs of Arad who were executed in 1849.

During the reconstruction process of the monument building coordinated by the Angyalföldi Lakásépítő (Angyalföldi Apartment construction Co.) modern apartments were implemented behind the prestigious walls.
